| Thoughts: | A third of the way through this one. Definetly not for young kids due to the nature of the content as well as lanuguage that is constantly used. |

| Thoughts: | A third of the way through this one. A fun little game with a good story and interesting concept of 2D in a 3D world. |

Gears of War (View)

| About: | Gears of War was revolutionary enough to earn multiple critics honors at E3 2006, and it's easy to see why. You're Marcus Fenix, a soldier with a face chiseled from granite and a will forged from iron. Lead your squad in humanity's desperate last stand against the Locust Horde, an endless swarm of horrifying creatures. You're completely outnumbered and outgunned in this third-person tactical action shooter. And you're the last chance we've got. Tactical maneuvers and teamwork are key, cover doesn't last, and fellow soldiers react with heightened AI. The brand-new Unreal Engine 3 powers Gears of War's cinematic experience, creating an environment realistic enough to walk into...if you've got the guts. |
| Thoughts: | I had a good time playing this game and took about 6-8 hours play to complete. The game is rather gory though and definetly not for younger kids due to not only the violence, but language as well. I co-oped most of it with my brother and he really enjoyed it too. The storyline was a little weak and at times I had to ask myself, "Why am I doing this objective again?" Visually, the graphics were great and really showed off what the XBox 360 could do as this was my first game on the system. I definetly recommend this game to those who enjoy co-operative play and first person shooter games. |

Prey (View)

| About: | Survive a journey into outer space by awakening your inner powers in this epic otherworldly shooter. Cherokee auto mechanic Tommy and his people have been kidnapped by an extraterrestrial race. Awaken long-forgotten spiritual powers to save yourself, your girlfriend, and your planet. Prey's remarkable storyline comes from authentic Cherokee mythology structured using the teachings of author Joseph Campbell, whose work shaped Star Wars. Prey's unique storyline brings never-before-seen elements like Spirit Walking, Wall Walking, and Deathwalk. Other innovative features include an environment that's your enemy: you're trapped on a living mothership that senses your presence. You'll also contend with startling portal technology, which allows enemies to suddenly appear out of nowhere. |
| Thoughts: | Fun and interesting first person shooter with action and some easily solved puzzles mixed in. I really enjoyed the portals and gravity manipulation (made you dizzy at times) as it added a fresh perspective on the genre. The game took about 8 hours to complete and the story line was interesting and made me want to keep playing to find out how it ended. There were some rather gruesome scenes so its not anything I would let younger kids play. I also enjoyed the music in this game (especially the end credits song). Any fan of sci-fi first person shooters should play this game. |

Tales of Symphonia (View)

| About: | The fate of two worlds rests in your hands! Welcome to Namco's Tales universe with this exclusive Tales of Symphonia release, a beautifully crafted, Anime-style 3D action adventure. Featuring designs by famed artist Kosuke Fujishima, Tales of Symphonia graphics are cel-shaded and 3-dimensional. Real-time battles in full-on 3D are intense and riveting, allowing for countless combos and special attacks with up to 4 players at once! Enjoy over 80 hours of epic storylines, including fully customizable characters and several mini-games and side-quests. |
| Thoughts: | It took rougly 60 hours to complete this game. I really liked the real-time battle system, which allowed for combos, special moves, etc. I was disappointed in the almost complete lack of full motion video, but the story was still interesting and enjoyable. The voice overs were great, but you still have to do a good bit of reading through some of the scenes. The only thing this game really lacked for me was side-quests. There were a few side quests, but they were ultimately pointless in both storyline and rewards. I'd recommend this game to fans of old school RPGs and those who like to mash buttons instead of shifting through a menu for battle actions. |

Xenosaga: Episode 1 (View)
 | |
| Web: | http://www.xenosaga.com |
| About: | Xenosaga is an action-adventure RPG. Set in a sci-fi setting with Japanese anime sensibilities, you are part of the Federation, expanding human civilization in the depths of space. But an evil alien race known as the Gnosis stands in your way. Set out on an epic adventure in space, using your skills, spells and more. With an epic story, over 80 hours of gameplay and music performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Xenosaga is the ultimate sci-fi RPG. |
| Thoughts: | I completed Xenosaga: Episode 1 after about 45 hours of play. The story was great and its almost like watching a TV series (several scenes are 20+ minutes) plus getting to play in it. While Xenosaga: Episode 1 was not as action oriented as previous action-adventure RPGs I have played, the story and scenes made up for it. I would recommend this game to those who are just as interested in the story elements as with game play elements of a game. |

Xenosaga: Episode 2 (View)
 | |
| Web: | http://www.xenosaga.com |
| About: | The second installment in Monolith's epic, three-part Xenosaga RPG series picks up where Episode 1 left off with much of the original cast. Four thousand years into the future, Earth has been left behind and humans struggle to survive in the war-torn reaches of deep space, locked in a seemingly endless conflict with the alien Gnosis race. With robotics and advanced weapons, humanity wages an epic battle in a struggle for survival itself. In a desperate effort to avoid total extinction, humanity continues to search for the legendary Zohar, an artifact reportedly capable of wiping out the Gnosis once and for all. Rejoin your favorite characters from Episode 1 in their search for this sacred artifact, as mankind's destiny hangs in the balance! |
| Thoughts: | I completed Xenosaga: Episode 2 after roughly 50 hours of play. I was disappointed in this Episode as it was not nearly as fun as the first one. The combat system is different and breaks were introduced (series of key combanations). But while character combat was not as enjoyable as the first episode, E.S. combat definetly improved. Ether (besudes healing and Kaiser) was just as useless in the first one as well as the newly introduced Double Techs. However, the story made it all worth it and it was overall still a fun game to play. |

Xenosaga: Episode 3 (View)
 | |
| Web: | http://www.xenosaga.com |
| About: | The Xenosaga trilogy comes to a fittingly epic conclusion in this final installment that picks up one year after Xenosaga II. The mystery beneath the conflict between humans and the alien Gnosis phenomenon deepens in a thrilling storyline packed with over eight hours of movies. The game's Money/Shop system returns, and with it near-constant upgrade possibilities. Battles have been updated with a new Break System. Character customization gets more specific than ever, and well-planned party management now pays big dividends, adding a new level of strategy. Access every detail of the Xenosaga story in the massive "Xeno Bible" database, then challenge yourself and friends with over 60 levels of mini-games. |
| Thoughts: | The pinnacle of the series mainly due to resolution of a good portion of the storyline. It took me approximately 65 hours to complete Xenosage: Episode 3. I would have preferred all the scenes to be FMV-like, but unfortunately about half of the scenes are done through chat bubbles with voice over. The character combat system was better than the second episode and pretty much the same with E.S. combat with the exception of more customization. The mini-game presented was also the most in depth that I have seen in the series and fun at that. One of the things I was disappointed was even though the game took longer to complete, the actual gameplay was less than the previous two episodes. Side-quests for the most part are non-existence and it seemed like I spent more time watching scenes, than actually playing. It's still came out as a great game in the end though. |
